The snp.io platform (pronounced like "snip") will simplify the capture of scientific data for personal use with the intention to improve the usability for everyone. The platforms components are fairly common today - smartphone app, web interface, and desktop application add-ins. Uniquely though, the platform can detect and extract the scientific data captured in an image. Using the cloud, the image data is transformed into text and then made available to the user via the platforms API. Although the captured content is searchable like Google, a query language will be developed that allows enhanced comparative analytics in a similar user interface to a command line.
